I was lucky enough to test drive one last August; it’s an amazing car, but after later driving the V6S I wouldn’t think twice about getting one over an R/ V8S. I just feel the R/ V8S is just way too show offie. It back fires wayyyy too much and in general it’s just too loud. The V6S is a perfect car in my opinion. It’s loud without being deafening, it back fires but nowhere near as often as the R/V8s, and it feels almost as quick, while at the same time somehow feeling a bit more sportier.

The V6S is nice no doubt but the R feels so special for some reason. While everyone is going for smaller displacement and turbos, Jag made a car that’s bold, insanely fast and loud with its big V8 and beautiful styling.

Correct; the 2016 F-Type will see the following changes:

F-Type R: Coupe & Convertible- 550HP, AWD, a few exterior updates, more interior updates, more options all around.

F-Type V6S: Coupe & Convertible: 380HP, RWD or AWD, 8 Speed ZF or 6 speed manual, a few exterior updates, more interior updates, more options all around.

F-Type V6: Coupe & Convertible: 340HP, RWD or AWD, 8 Speed ZF or 6 speed manual, sports exhaust as standard, a few exterior updates, more interior updates, more options all around.

I think the crazy amount of back fire is what gives the F-type so much character! The XK-R is beautiful, sad to see them end production on it.
